Dear Friend, Supporter, and Neighbor,

We are asking for your consideration during our annual campaign. Much thanks to those of you who have donated to us in the past. For those of you who contributed to our investment fund; this enabled Strengthening Rural Families to establish an account that has continued to grow over the past year. Thus allowing us to diversify our financial position and enhance our ability to serve people living in our rural communities.

This year, we have two ways for you to support us. The General Fund will help us continue to operate our current programs. And, new this year, our Strengthening Rural Families’ Board has a goal of raising $15,000 for our 15th year. In order to get a head start on this, there is an opportunity for folks to donate to the Celebration Fund. These monies will add to our investments, creating an endowment which will even further stabilize and diversify our funding. Also new this year, we are incredibly grateful to have an anonymous donor who is willing to match donations to either fund — new gifts or increased amounts from past donors — up to $5,000.

Your contribution provides a meaningful benefit to our rural neighbors. A number of the families we serve have children who experience adverse conditions. They struggle with poverty, inadequate nutrition, access to early childhood education or healthy housing. Direct donation dollars continue to be important to our ability to raise other funds, maintain and grow programs, advocate for our neighbors and participate in the coalition work that makes a positive difference in rural communities.

After participating in SRF programming, parents were asked how their class participation has impacted their family’s behavior: “I am calmer and approach situations a little differently now.” “(I am) More aware of dealing with emotions and behavior. Learning good tips/strategies.” “He is learning how to socialize and listen to other adults better.”

At Strengthening Rural Families, our guiding principles are to:

  • Ensure that all individuals and families have access to social support, community education and health services in their rural communities.
  • Advocate for rural children, teens, adults and families.
  • Build programs in collaboration with individuals, families, school districts, community agencies, businesses and other organizations.
  • Strive to meet the needs of all cultures while honoring the positive community traditions and values of our rural community members.

Our programming is important to the individuals, children and families we serve. Your assistance is vital for the work we’ve been accomplishing in rural communities. Here are a few words from people who were asked what they appreciated about it: “Structured objectives of each class. Thoughtful preparation by the instructor.” “I enjoyed the help for parental stress.” “Collaborative and inclusive.” “I now focus on handling things one step at a time and I am more open-minded.”

Please support the long-term viability of our organization. When you donate, you will receive a receipt from us to use for your tax filing, as donations to Strengthening Rural Families are tax-deductible. If it is more convenient, you may contribute on-line, clicking on DONATE NOW, Network for Good.

Thank you for all your support. We wish the best for you and your family
during this holiday season and for the New Year.
