Live & Learn Classes

Join other parents/caregivers and their babies and toddlers in person. We’ll be meeting in Philomath, location TBD.

Learn about your child’s development through discussions and simple at-home activities. Learn best practices and discuss parenting topics surrounding infant development and care. Typical topics include sleep, separation anxiety, growing independence, self-care, and more.

Class meets for 10 weeks. Participants will receive information about child development and about parenting topics. These classes are offered in collaboration with LBCC.

  • $30 to Philomath and Alsea residents, $74 for all others.

Girls Circle

8-week class for 5th through 12th grade girls who want to learn how to more effectively express themselves in healthy and creative ways.

Participants will learn ways to make healthy decisions and how to feel great about themselves.

Make Parenting a Pleasure​

10-week course for parents of children ages 0 to 12 years.

This class is for parents wanting to enhance their skills in coping with the stresses of parenting, communication, and learning about child development and positive discipline techniques- and it’s a great way to get to know other parents.

Incredible Years

10-week program for parents of children ages 2 to 10. The focus of the class is to promote emotional and social skills.

Learn how:

  • To make clear family rules
  • Prevent and reduce behavior problems
  • To use play and praise to build better relationships with your children

Additionally, offered in Spanish.

Nurturing Parenting class

Nurturing Parenting​

10-week class for parents with children of any age.

Focus on:

  • Improving communication and building your relationships with your child
  • Increasing positive parenting skills 
  • Developing values and rules for your family
  • Learning how to boost your child’s brain development
  • Exploring different ways to handle things when you’re really frustrated with your child

6-week class for parents of middle school age children.

Helps parents learn ways to help their kids:

  • Weather the social turmoil of the middle school years
  • Develop responsibility
  • Stay engaged in school
  • Navigate/remove power struggles
